Work somewhere travel is taken seriously

Sixty-four people in Greater Kailash, eight roles open. If you have ever rewritten a friend's holiday itinerary uninvited, we should probably talk.

Why 99Travels

A small company that never got industrialised

We have never taken outside funding, which means nobody here has been asked to hit a number by selling a holiday they would not take. That single fact shapes the whole job.

You own your work end to end

A destination specialist here writes the itinerary, prices it, sells it and takes the call when something goes wrong at 3 AM. No handing files to a faceless operations pool. It is more responsibility and considerably more satisfying.

Flat, and genuinely so

Three layers between an intern and the managing director. Aparna still sits in the main room. Anyone can veto a supplier on ethical grounds and that veto has never been overruled in fifteen years.

You will actually travel

Two funded familiarisation trips a year, minimum, plus one personal holiday allowance at staff rates. In 2025 the team collectively spent 611 nights on the road. You cannot sell Hoi An from a spreadsheet.

Life here

What the week actually looks like

Monday map meeting

Forty minutes, whole company, everyone says what they are planning and where it is going wrong. It has replaced most of our email.

Rotating duty desk, never a night shift

24×7 support runs on a paid rota with compensatory time off in the same week — not on unpaid goodwill from whoever is awake.

Familiarisation trips, twice a year

Fully funded, region-matched, and briefed like real work — you come back with property notes, guide reviews and photographs the team can use.

Friday debriefs, no blame

Every trip that went sideways is discussed openly. The point is the supplier list, not the person. It is the reason we have removed 23 partners since 2019.

One office, one city

We are proudly a Delhi company. Hybrid two days a week for desk roles, with the Greater Kailash office as the centre of gravity rather than a formality.

Urgent

Sales & Planning

Destination Specialist — Southeast Asia

New Delhi, hybrid Full time 3–6 years

Own Bali, Vietnam, Thailand and Cambodia end to end — the listening call, the route architecture, the quote and the relationship afterwards. You will carry roughly 90 travellers a year and be measured on repeat rate, not gross bookings. Prior DMC or tour-operator experience in the region and comfort quoting in USD and THB expected.

Reports to Rohit Nambiar · Two familiarisation trips in year one

Documentation

Visa & Documentation Consultant

New Delhi, on-site Full time 2–5 years

Prepare, check and track Schengen, UK, US, Japan and Australia files, liaise with VFS and embassy appointment systems, and tell travellers honestly when a file is weak rather than banking the fee. Meticulous document handling matters more here than sales polish; our 98.4% approval rate is the number you will be trusted with.

Reports to Farhan Qureshi · Embassy liaison exposure preferred

Seasonal

Operations

Tour Manager — Himalaya Departures

Leh, field-based Contract, Apr–Sep 4+ seasons

Lead small-group departures across Ladakh, Spiti and Sikkim — twelve guests maximum, eight to eleven nights. You set the daily pace, run the acclimatisation protocol, manage permits and camp logistics, and are the company on the ground. Wilderness first-aid certification, high-altitude experience and a valid mountain driving comfort level are required.

Reports to Devendra Bhatt · Accommodation and per-diem covered on tour

Apply for this role

Bespoke

Luxury Travel Designer — Europe

New Delhi, hybrid Full time 5–9 years

Design high-value bespoke journeys across Switzerland, Italy, Greece, Iceland and the Nordics for repeat and referred travellers, typically ₹4–18 lakh per booking. You will work rail-first, hold direct relationships with 40-odd properties, and be expected to argue a client out of an over-packed route when it is the right thing to do.

Reports to Meera Kulkarni · German, French or Italian an advantage

Apply for this role

Corporate & MICE

Corporate Travel Account Manager

Bengaluru Full time 4–8 years

Own a portfolio of twelve to fifteen corporate accounts across Karnataka, covering travel policy design, negotiated fare programmes, approval workflows and quarterly business reviews. You will also run offsites and incentive trips with the MICE desk. GDS fluency and a working grasp of airline corporate contracting are essential.

Reports to Vikram Thakur · Opening our first Bengaluru desk

Growth

Digital Marketing Manager

New Delhi, hybrid Full time 4–7 years

Run organic search, the travel journal, email and paid acquisition for a brand that does not do clickbait, countdown timers or fake scarcity. Success is qualified enquiries and cost per booked traveller, not impressions. You will work closely with the destination specialists, because our best-performing content has always been written by people who were there.

Reports to Aparna Raghunathan · Content and SEO weighted over paid

Apply for this role

Experience

Customer Experience Lead

New Delhi, on-site Full time 5–8 years

Own everything between confirmation and the post-trip debrief: travel packs, pre-departure briefings, the duty-desk rota and the review programme. You will personally call travellers who rated us below four, and your findings decide which suppliers stay on the list. Calm under pressure matters more than a service-industry vocabulary.

Partners with Sneha Iyer · Direct input into supplier audits

New

Technology

Front-end Engineer

New Delhi, hybrid Full time 3–6 years

Build and maintain the public site, the trip planner and our internal quoting tool. We write hand-authored HTML, CSS and vanilla JavaScript with a strict accessibility and performance budget — no framework churn, no 400 KB of dependencies to render a price. If you care about semantics, focus states and reduced-motion support, you will enjoy it here.

Works with the operations team daily · WCAG 2.2 AA target

The process

How we hire — five steps, about three weeks

You will hear from a human at every stage, including if the answer is no. We have never ghosted a candidate and do not intend to start.

  1. Step 01 · Within 4 working days

    Application and first read

Send your CV and a short note through the contact form, naming the role. No cover letter templates, please — three honest paragraphs about why this role and what you have actually done is far more useful.

  2. Step 02 · Week 1

    A 30-minute call

With Sneha from the experience team. Mutual expectations, compensation range stated openly at this stage, and your questions get at least half the time.

  3. Step 03 · Week 2

    A real piece of work

Two hours, paid at ₹3,000, done in your own time. Specialists draft a seven-night route from a real brief; engineers ship a small accessible component; marketers critique one of our own campaigns. We never use candidate work commercially.

  4. Step 04 · Week 2–3

    Office conversation

Ninety minutes in Greater Kailash with your prospective manager and one peer, walking through your exercise and a real problem from last season. Travel to the office is reimbursed for out-of-city candidates.

  5. Step 05 · Week 3

Offer, in writing, with the numbers

Full salary breakdown, leave policy, familiarisation-trip entitlement and review cycle, all in the letter. Two references taken after the offer, never before.

Benefits

What comes with the job

Listed plainly, because we would want them listed plainly.

Travel

Two funded FAM trips a year

Region-matched, flights and land covered, briefed as real work with property notes expected on return.

Travel

Staff rates for personal holidays

One personal trip a year at net cost with no planning fee, extending to immediate family after twelve months.

Time

24 days leave, plus your birthday

Encashment is not the goal — managers are reviewed on whether their team actually took the leave.

Health

₹8 lakh family health cover

Spouse, children and dependent parents included, plus annual health checks and worldwide travel insurance while on duty.

Money

Profit share, not commission

An annual pool distributed on tenure and peer review. Nobody is incentivised to oversell a single booking.

Family

26 weeks maternity, 8 weeks paternity

Fully paid, with a phased four-week return and no change to your accounts or region while you are away.

Learning

₹40,000 learning budget

IATA and GDS certifications, language classes, wilderness first aid or a conference — your call, approved in a day.

Everyday

Hybrid, and a real lunch

Two remote days a week for desk roles, cooked lunch in the office daily, and commute support for the duty-desk rota.

Before you apply

Hiring questions, answered

For the destination specialist, luxury designer, visa and corporate roles, yes — the regional knowledge and supplier relationships take years to build and we cannot shortcut them. For marketing, engineering and customer experience, no. Four of our current team joined from outside travel entirely, including two from hospitality and one from a public-health NGO. What we cannot teach is care about detail.

Yes. It is scoped to two hours, paid ₹3,000 on submission regardless of the outcome, and you have a full week to return it. We never use candidate work commercially and will tell you so in writing. If an exercise is taking you materially longer than two hours, tell us — that is our brief being badly written, not you being slow.

Desk roles run hybrid — three days in the Greater Kailash office, two wherever you like. Fully remote does not work for us: the Monday map meeting and the Friday debrief are where most of the actual learning happens. The exceptions are the Bengaluru corporate role, which is a genuine second location, and tour managers, who are field-based by definition.

The range is stated openly on the first 30-minute call, before you invest any further time. Pay is a fixed salary plus an annual profit share — we do not run per-booking commission, because commission is how travellers end up on holidays that suit the seller. Reviews happen every twelve months, and we do not ask for your current salary at any stage of the process.

We read everything

Send us three honest paragraphs

Name the role, tell us what you have actually built or sold, and what you would want to change here in your first year. You will hear back within four working days.
